For organisers
Listing your event
Listing is free and needs no account. A person checks each new event, usually within one working day, and we email you a private link to keep it up to date.
Submit an event
Open Submit an event
The button is at the top of every page, or go to the submit form. Your answers are kept in your browser as you type, so you can come back to it.
Describe the event
Title, city (times are in that city’s local time), format, dates and times, venue or online link, and the event website where people register. Choose up to three topics and write a short description.
Optional details help people decide: audience, expected size, whether it is free, accessibility you have confirmed with the venue, and whether registration is open, sold out or waitlist only. Tick Looking for speakers, volunteers or sponsors to appear on the Get involved board.
Tell us who you are
Your name, email and organisation. We use these only to contact you about the listing. They are never shown on the site.
Agree to listing emails and choose Submit event
Agree to emails about this listing (that is how your edit link reaches you). News from us, and letting other planners contact you about date clashes without seeing your email, are optional.
What happens next
- We email to say we have it. A moderator checks it is a tech event in a region we cover, with a working link, and not a duplicate.
- When it is approved we email “Your event is live” with your private edit link. Organisers we have verified are published straight away.
- If we decline it, we email you the reason: not a tech event, a duplicate, a missing or broken link, outside the regions we cover, or spam. Reply to that email if you think we got it wrong.
- Events that are never approved are deleted after 90 days.
Keeping it up to date
Your edit link opens a page where you can change any detail. Changes go live straight away, with no second check.
- Yes, still on: confirms the event without changing anything.
- Mark as cancelled or Mark as postponed: the event stays on the calendar with a clear label, and everyone who saved it gets an email. It’s going ahead undoes it.
- List your next event: opens the submit form filled in from this one. Set the new date and website.
Each link is used once
A link lasts 30 days. After you save a change, we email you a fresh one. If it has expired, choose Send me a new link, or use Email the organiser an edit link on the event page. New links always go to the email you submitted with.Emails we send organisers
- Three days before the event: a reminder to check the listing is right.
- Now and then for events up to two months away: “Is it still on?”. If there is no answer within two weeks, the event shows Unconfirmed.
- A day or two after: how many people viewed, clicked and saved it, with a button to list your next event.
See how your listings are doing
Sign in with the email you submitted with, then open Your listings. For each event you see page views, website clicks, saves and going, and how many similar events are on in the same week. Choose Edit to change an event without waiting for a link. Figures update once a day; each visitor counts once an hour, and search engines are left out.
Your organiser page
Every organisation with events has a public page listing its upcoming and past events, linked from each event. Organisers we have verified show a Verified badge.
Questions
Can you import our events automatically?
Yes. If your events are in a calendar feed (.ics) or a Meetup group, use Import your calendar. A person checks it, usually within two working days, and we email you when we start reading it each day. For Eventbrite or Humanitix, contact us. Imported events do not get edit links: change them in your own calendar and the change flows through.
My event is overseas. Can I list it?
The form covers the eight Australian capital cities. We add a small number of big overseas events ourselves under International.
Is there a limit?
Up to ten new listings a day for each email address. A short human check on the form stops spam.
