For organisers
Choosing a date
The best time to avoid a clash is before you book the venue. These free tools show what else is on.
Check a date
Open Check a date (or use the date box on the calendar), pick a date and a city, and choose Check this date. You get a plain verdict:
- Looks clear, Some overlap, Open, with a catch, A busy day (three or more events), or Best avoided (a public holiday).
- Notes on weekends, Mondays and Fridays, days next to a public holiday, and school holidays.
- Everything on that day, and in the three days either side.
From there, Open this day in the calendar or List your event.
It only knows what is listed
The check counts events organisers have told us about. The more organisers list, the better it gets for everyone.Use the calendar as a planning view
Filter the calendar to your city and topic and look at the Busy days strip: the darker the day, the more is on. Turn on School holidays if your audience has children.
For a scored view of every date, your own date holds and alerts, see Planner tools.
